God Gives Us Our Heart’s Desire (Haggai 2:6-9)

Terrel Kesterson, December 17, 2017
Part of the series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

If God promised to give you whatever you wanted for Christmas, what would you ask for? How
about something you would really enjoy, but there’s no way you could afford it? How about
having all your bills paid: no credit card payments, no car payments, no mortgage payments –
nothing? How about an absolutely clean bill of health for yourself or for someone you love?
How about real, lasting peace – no sorrow, no anxiety, no fear, and all people treating each other
with love and kindness? Any of these things would be quite a gift.

Haggai 2:6-9

6For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; 7and I will shake all nations; and the precious things of all nations shall come; and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts. 8The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Jehovah of hosts. 9The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, saith Jehovah of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith Jehovah of hosts.
