“We preach Christ crucified!”

(1 Corinthians 1:23)

Our church family gathers around the message of the cross.

We endeavor in our preaching, teaching, and witnessing to answer the following:

  • Why was Christ crucified? . . . our sin (Romans 3:23,24).
    • “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23, ESV)
  • What was the result? . . . God’s unconditional forgiveness to all the world
    • “and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” (Romans 3:24, ESV)
  • Who benefits? . . . you who labor and are burdened with sin
    •  “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28, ESV)
  • Where do we receive such blessings? . . . In the preaching of the gospel and administration of the Sacraments (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper)
    •  “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17, ESV)
  • How do we treasure this gift? . . . by teaching His word faithfully
    • “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” (John 14:23, ESV)
